Now I know consuming salty snacks sounds a bit contradictory to the whole “keeping hydrated” thing, but these are super important in reducing the risk of heat exhaustion.


You can rehydrate all you want, but if the salt lost through sweat is not replaced, your body is running without the main minerals in electrolytes – sodium and potassium.

When it comes to maintaining energy levels in high heat, it’s a two-pronged approach of water and foods rich in these minerals.
