Chipotle Style Barbacoa

A fantastic slow cooked meal with barrels of tasty heat…


  • 2kg Braising Steak
  • 100g Chipotle Paste
  • 2 Beef Stock Cubes
  • Garlic Cloves
  • 1½tsp Cumin
  • 1½tsp Oregano
  • 1tsp Salt
  • 1tsp Pepper
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 Cloves
  • 300ml Hot Water

  1. Using a slow cooker pour in 150ml of water then add the chipotle paste, stock cubes, garlic cloves, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper.
  2. Blend and pour into the slow cooker.
  3. Add 2 bay leaves and 2 cloves then the 2kg of Braising Steak.
  4. Pop the lid on and cook on a high heat for 6 hours, or low for 8-10 hours.
  5. After 6 hours, drain it by taking the beef and placing it on a chopping board.
  6. Serve on a floury tortilla wrap with some salsa and a generous topping of coriander leaves.
