Macro Friendly Lasagne


Ingredients

  • 450g Extra Lean British Beef Mince
  • 400g Tinned Plum Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 1tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1tsp Worcester Sauce
  • 1/2tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Salt and Pepper

Method:


  1. Heat a large frying pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  2. Add the onions, garlic and beef to pan and break up the meat. Fry everything until the meat is brown.
  3. Add all the other ‘meat ingredients’ and stir. Allow this to cook while you make the sauce.
  4. In a separate pan add the milk and warm gently then add the nutmeg, salt and pepper. Once warmed add a little milk to the corn flour to form a paste then tip into the saucepan and whisk. Keep stirring until it begins to bubble and gets thick.
  5. To make the lasagne take a small dish and put 1/2 of the meat into the bottom followed by 1 lasange sheet. Repeat the process with the 2nd half of the meat mixture and top with the sauce and cheese.
  6. Cook for 20 – 35 mins until its golden brown.
  7. Place the courgettes on to a serving plate and iifym drizzle with a little oil or spray with a couple of spritzes of the spray oil. Season with salt and pepper and then place the turkey on top. Squeeze lemon all over the turkey and then serve.
  8. I have this with wholegrain pilau rice as one of my meals for the day. Really simple and if you can get the turkey cooked just right, the flesh stays so moist and is really flavoursome.
  9. I have served it in this picture with some chopped chives and spring onions.
