Delicious Italian dishes can be pretty carb and fat heavy, without the protein you need. Leah has fixed this problem with a delicious Macro-Friendly Carbonara!

Ingredients

  • 300g wholemeal spaghetti (dry weight)
  • 150g spreadable cheese
  • 150ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 50g virtually zero fat cheddar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 8 turkey rashers or low-fat bacon medallions
  • Garlic granules to season

Method:


  1. Place spaghetti on to boil
  2. Meanwhile grill or shallow fry turkey rashers or bacon medallions
  3. Once spaghetti is cooked through, drain and return to the pan
  4. Chop bacon rashers into small chunks and add to the spaghetti
  5. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir
  6. Return to low heat and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes until sauce has thickened up
  7. Add garlic granules to taste
  8. Enjoy!
