The Middle aged face a health crisis because of their unhealthy lifestyles, experts from Public Health England have warned.

Due to the vast increase in desk jobs, fast food consumption and the general stresses of a daily grind, the health of the British public is paying the price.

This is proven with one particularly scary stat – eight in every 10-people aged 40-60 in England either drink too much, get too little exercise or are overweight.

Obesity has shot up by 16% in adults over the past two decades, and many can’t identify what a ‘healthy’ body looks like – showing that obesity is becoming the new normal.

“The demands of modern day living are taking their toll on the health of the nation, and it’s those in middle age that are suffering the consequences most, as their health reaches worrying new levels,” Professor Sir Muir Gray, Clinical Adviser for the One You Campaign said.

“Over 15 million Britons are living with a long-term health condition, and busy lives and desk jobs make it difficult to live healthily. But just making a few small changes will have significant benefits to people’s health now and in later life.”

Now more than ever, it’s important to eat better, be active, consider your drinking and (if you are) stop smoking. And to help with those first three points, we feel we have the solution.

Let’s look at the barriers of getting healthy… No, not the generally vague pointers suggested above, but the things that we’ve learnt stop people from eating well and working out at the beginning of a year.

It’s simple really:

  • There’s so many people giving so many different pieces of advice
  • It’s too damn expensive – every company jacks up their prices to take advantage of the January crowd.

For the first point – advice – chances are you’re going to get so many self-titled “experts” telling you what does and does not work for you.

These types of gym bros are not just woefully uneducated, they can also be dangerous – either overdosing your body on nutrition it doesn’t need or stripping out essential nutrients entirely.

The solution lies in our articles section, written by a range of professional athletes, trainers and qualified experts. These pieces of insight will help give the insight to building the perfect plan for you!

And as for costliness, we get it. Gyms are more expensive than ever, that fitness gear has just rocketed up in price. But your healthy nutrition shouldn’t have to suffer too…

Whether you are slimming down, building muscle or just want to enjoy some mouth-wateringly good food – then our New Year Super Lean Selection is the thing for you!

With enough lean meat, veggies and healthy snacks to keep you comfortably fed for the whole of January, this will certainly help keep you going for the first month of your healthy eating plan.

AND at just £55, it’s an absolute steal.

Over the past few months, we’ve carefully built this hamper with every person in mind, from those with weight concerns to those looking to flex those guns.
