Spicy Glazed Pork Loin Steaks

Pork is a fantastic alternative to beef or chicken as it is extremely protein rich, and it can be part of a low fat diet. This quick and spicy recipe is guaranteed to add a little meat variety to your daily meals whilst delivering you that all-important protein hit.

  1. Mix the chipotle salsa, honey and mustard in a small bowl and set to one side.
  2. Season the loin steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a pan over a medium heat then add the loins and cook on one side until a crust forms.
  4. Brush the uncooked side with the chipotle mix then flip and brush the cooked sides too.
  5. Add the apple wedges and cook for a further 3 min.
  6. Reduce the heat and add the apple juice.
  7. Simmer for 5 min or until the loins are cooked all the way through.
  8. Remove the loins for the pan but leave the juices and apples.
  9. Stir in a knob of butter to thicken the sauce and to add a little richness.
  10. Serve the loins hot with lashings of the sauce and a few new potatoes too.
