Top Summer Tips From PT Steve

Summer is the time to enjoy good food and good company, this doesn’t have to mean that no progression can be made towards your diet and training goals. There are a few things to look out for when you are indulging this summer, if you watch this then all your hard work for your summer body hasn’t been for nothing!

Go for lean meats – always pick lean meats, go for the under 5% meats and of course chicken is never a bad choice. It is also very easy to ate large quantities of meats, so if you still want to have loads of different meats then don’t go for full sized portions.

Chose the right snacks – to really enjoy this summer choosing the right snacks will be key, chose snack that will make you feel full and are low in calories. Just be careful when reading the information on the back of products, when it says a certain amount of calories it’s probably per portion – not for the whole amount!

The hidden calories – this is probably the most important one that I tell my clients. Beware of the hidden calories, these can be in rubs, glazes and sauces – still want to enjoy these delicious extra’s, just make sure they are low in calories and you stick to the correct serving size!
